a note from the port

visual diary of Sunda Kelapa Harbor

Story by Elsan Anugrah Pratama April 18th, 2017

the morning sun began to rise

it started to get warmer and I could feel my sweat rolling through my clothes

apparently, it had been raining all night long until dawn, because I could see lots of puddle along the port

ring ring, I heard the sound of a bicycle bell behind me, so I step aside

I saw, it was a bicycle ojek with its passengers to their destination which was not too far I suppose, because this port was not that big

I kept walking while capturing some interesting moments with my camera

there were so many people who lived around the port, they do their daily activities as usual

In it's simplicity, it was an interesting sight

they went to work, went to school, went to the sea for fishing, and were building a boat

brother, brother, please take my photograph

the children who pl;ayed around me called

they started to get closer and posed like a model

Suddenly, it closed to dusk and I was running out of film

its time to go home

then I began to recall the memories I had been through this very day, and again, by looking at these photographs, I feel it's atmosphere covering me with something unexplainable,

A PEACE
